I graduated from Slidell High School in 1987.
I graduated from Western Govoners University in 2010.
I have a Bachelors of Arts in Interdesplinarry studies K-8.
I am certified in 4-8 generalist.
I have attended Read 180 professional development for the past two years. I have also participated in several Webinars for Read 180.
This is my second year at Hempstead Middle School and with Hempstead ISD. I teach Read 180 / Reading Lab.
I have been in education for the past 20 years in various positions. I started my education career with Waller ISD as a paraeducator and decided that I wanted to return to school shortly after. I continued to work in education and go to school. In 2007, I taught DCR and Social Studies and then in 2010 I taught Social Studies.
I have been married to my wonderful, supportive husband for twenty-one years. We have four children (3 girls and 1 boy). Three of our children are adults and our youngest is a Junior in high school. My husband and I have one granddaughter and two grandsons. We are pet lovers! We have two dogs some chickens that I have named and my daughter raises pigs for FFA!!!
When I am not teaching I love to spend time with my family. I also like to travel and just sit and relax with my husband.
